Jeremy Walker is a seasoned business development, marketing and communications executive with over 25 years experience delivering strategic, insight-driven solutions. His commercial expertise spans a wide variety of enterprises, with particular emphasis on the tourism, leisure, hospitality and sport sectors, including brand building for large integrated resort and mixed-use developments.
Jeremy is a big advocate for sustainability, helping organisations to navigate increasingly complex regulatory environments, with impact on corporate governance, business strategy and culture, to empower a more equitable environment for stakeholders and communities.
He is passionate about enhancing the customer journey, from building awareness and affinity to generating deep-rooted loyalty and sales, particularly through bespoke events and hospitality experiences.
Taking a strategic and analytic approach, Jeremy is skilled in bringing brands and strategic partners together, formulating long-lasting and successful commercial collaborations and bridging gaps between companies, government agencies, media and consumers to achieve goals.
Jeremy has held various executive roles, most recently with a leading Asian gaming, entertainment and development company, heading the bidding submission and marketing communications functions in support of license application and investment efforts to develop and operate multi-billion dollar integrated resorts, notably in Japan, Macau and across APAC markets. Prior to that Jeremy was Managing Director, Hong Kong of strategic communications and integrated marketing agency Golin. He has extensive experience in the world of sports and leisure, organising many high profile events and hospitality experiences, media and sponsorship campaigns and managing leisure development and destination marketing and sales activities across golf, motorsport, yachting, rugby, football, entertainment and art sectors.
Formulation and implementation of a bidding, PR and marketing strategy to support Galaxy Entertainment Group's efforts to enter new gaming markets across APAC, including Japan. Work encompassed, in-depth analysis of regulatory and government policy, bidding process requirements, financial forecasting, market and public sentiment research, media and community outreach on behalf of the Board.
Supported the successful 2023-2033 new gaming concession relicensing exercise for Galaxy Entertainment Group’s US$3.5B investment in Macau. Role encompassed preparation of investment vision, business and operational plans with specific focus on non-gaming functions including MICE, Sports, Culture, Gastronomy, Branded Entertainment, Healthcare and Wellness, in line with tourism and economic objectives of the MSAR. government.
Specialised in bringing companies and brands together to create powerful, strategic and commercial partnerships, paving the way for collaboration, growth, and mutual success. Sectors include healthcare/wellness, sports, branded attractions and leisure. General management of PR communications firm, Golin Hong Kong, with full P&L, talent and business development responsibility for a portfolio of c.40 clients spanning corporate, consumer sectors with c.US$4M in annual revenues.
Pre-Opening brand building for Galaxy Macau Integrated Resort (the most successful resort in the world by revenue), including travel trade B2B, consumer B2C PR communications, executive thought leadership and internal SOP's and communications. Led media and event management for the Grand Opening of the resort’s phase 1 (2011) and phase 2 (2015) with over 300 global media in attendance, driving over 20,000 visitors in the first hour of opening. Additional brand communications work for Pernod Ricard beverages portfolio, residential golf developments and golf academies.
Production Partner and Sales Agent for ESPN Star Sports. Producer of event based original programming including Ladies Asian Golf Tour, commercial sales for the Macau Grand Prix and Beijing Olympic preview series ‘Are You Ready’.
Led Hong Kong operations for international PR agency GolinHarris. Implemented a corporate restructuring exercise, incorporating business process change management, staff training and rebranding – transforming the company from a traditional PR firm to a digitally enabled integrated marketing agency
Led an integrated marketing and public relations campaign for Galaxy Macau’s involvement in the Macau Grand Prix as a component of their brand building and CSR activities in the city. Managed sponsorship contract negotiations (between F3 team Double R Racing, the Macau Automobile Association and Galaxy Macau), rights activation, car and a-board design in line with sponsor brand. Also organized multiple side events to generate media interest.
Sponsorship activation, media engagement, event and VIP hospitality management for many high profile events including; Manchester City Football Club's 2019 Tour of Japan, which included a 70,000 sell out exhibition match against FC Yokohama and a community youth football tournament; ANZ Bank’s involvement in the Bledisloe Cup 2008 at Hong Kong Stadium; and Aberdeen Asset Management's sponsorship of the HK Around the Island Race among others.
Following acquisition of Starwood by Marriott Int’l, supported the integration of their loyalty programmes into the ‘Marriott Rewards’ brand (now Bonvoy), promoting via a HK Sevens integrated campaign encompassing; sponsorship activation, VIP customer experience, concert, real time in-stadium social media engagement, PR and hospitality.
Event Organiser and Media Relations for the Hong Kong Elephant Parade sponsored by Swire Properties, a unique public exhibition that combined art with nature conservation. More than 100 individually painted life-size baby elephant statues were placed throughout Swire’s Hong Kong portfolio. Each was created by renowned local and international artists, designers or celebrities, following which 30 were auctioned on behalf of the Asian Elephant Foundation.
Led the commercial sales, television production, media rights and media centre for Ladies Asian Golf Tour events – HK Ladies Masters, Macau Ladies Open and Binhai (Shanghai) Ladies Open, working closely with the Tour and local golf associations. Greater China representative of the Gary Player Group, securing golf academy brand concessions.
Creator of the American Express Platinum and Centurion Golf Programme (which ran from 2002-2019) – a virtual golf club leveraging a wide array of strategic partnerships, designed to enhance loyalty among VIP cardmembers through a comprehensive array of exclusive golf related benefits including annual tournaments and customer experiences, golf travel services and arrangement of tee time bookings at private golf clubs around the world.
